Celebrating a Namibian Heroine for November: Linea Kapofi

At Naayela’s Dream Publications, we celebrate Namibians who are opening doors for others and reminding us that inclusion starts with action. For November, we proudly honor Linea Kapofi, a young woman whose work is helping create a more accessible and compassionate Namibia.

Standing Up for Deaf Rights

Linea is a strong advocate for deaf rights. Her voice, skills, and commitment continue to push for equal access, understanding, and dignity for members of the deaf community. She believes that everyone deserves to be heard, seen, and supported, regardless of ability.

Representing Future Leadership

She has also served as a delegate of the Future Leaders of the United Nations, an experience that exposed her to global conversations around leadership, equality, and social change. This opportunity strengthened her passion for advocacy and inclusive development.

Bridging Communication Gaps

Linea is a Namibian Sign Language interpreter, a role that places her at the heart of communication and inclusion. Through interpretation, she helps bridge the gap between the hearing and deaf communities, making spaces more accessible and conversations more meaningful.

Teaching with Purpose

She works as a teacher at a school for the hearing impaired in Windhoek. In the classroom, Linea does more than teach lessons. She builds confidence, encourages self-expression, and helps learners believe in their potential.

A Journey That Began with Curiosity

Her journey into sign language began in 2017 when she started learning it at the University of Namibia for the first time. What began as learning soon became a calling and a lifelong commitment to service and advocacy.

Linea believes that when we work together, we can create spaces where all Namibians have access to the resources they need to build the lives they want. Her message is simple but powerful: inclusion is everyone’s responsibility.
