Some stories quietly remind us that leadership is not always loud. Sometimes it grows from family, community, and the steady decision to keep learning and building. For the month of March, we honour Ruthy Masake Nchinzyobe, a woman whose life reflects strength, purpose, and service.

Mrs. Nchinzyobe is many things at once. She is a wife, a mother, a leader, and an entrepreneur. These roles are not separate chapters in her life but closely connected parts of who she is. Through family and community work, she has learned how to balance responsibility with compassion and vision.
She is deeply determined to acquire more knowledge, both within Namibia and beyond its borders. For her, learning is a lifelong journey. This hunger for knowledge has helped shape her leadership style and keeps her grounded in understanding people, cultures, and changing realities.
Mrs. Nchinzyobe was born on 19 December 1979 in a small village west of Newlook called Sikubi. Growing up in a rural setting played a major role in shaping her values of hard work, resilience, and community solidarity. These early experiences continue to influence her approach to leadership and entrepreneurship today.
Her role model is her aunt, Doreen Sioka, a respected leader and teacher by profession. Watching her aunt serve with dedication inspired Mrs. Nchinzyobe to believe in the power of education, discipline, and service to others, especially for women.
In her political work, she serves as the Regional Mobiliser for the SWAPO Party Women Council in the Zambezi Region. In this role, she works closely with women at grassroots level, encouraging participation, unity, and active involvement in community and political processes.
Her entrepreneurial journey began at a young age, selling fat cakes and sweets. What started small grew into a lasting passion for business. Today, she is a caterer and a small-scale farmer, proving that consistency and determination can turn humble beginnings into sustainable livelihoods.
Mrs. Ruthy Masake Nchinzyobe’s story is one of growth, service, and quiet determination. We celebrate her as our March Namibian Heroine for showing that leadership begins at home, grows through learning, and flourishes through service to others.
Honouring Namibian women who rise, build, and lead while staying rooted in their communities.
