At Naayela’s Dream Publications, we believe every journey deserves to be told, especially those shaped by resilience, second chances, and community support. For January, we celebrate Tarah Shiwayu, a man whose story shows how determination and service can open new doors.

Roots That Shaped His Journey
Tarah Shiwayu was born in Elyambala near Ongwediva and raised in Okongo. These communities played a big role in shaping his character and values. Growing up there taught him the importance of belonging, hard work, and staying connected to people.
A Love for Soccer from a Young Age
From an early age, Tarah developed a strong passion for soccer. Known by his soccer nickname “Baros,” the game became more than just a hobby. It was a space for discipline, teamwork, and personal growth, values that continue to guide him today.
Turning Setbacks into Opportunities
After failing Grade 12, Tarah’s life took a different but meaningful turn when he joined the Ongwediva Youth Club. What could have been a setback became a turning point. Being part of the youth club opened up opportunities, built his confidence, and helped him discover his leadership potential.
Growing into a Leader
During his time at the Ongwediva Youth Club, Tarah held several leadership positions, including Secretary of Information and Publicity Officer, and later President of the club. These roles strengthened his communication skills, sense of responsibility, and commitment to serving others.
New Horizons Through Volunteering
One of his proudest milestones was traveling outside Namibia for the first time, an opportunity made possible through volunteering at the youth club. This experience broadened his perspective and reinforced the value of giving your time and skills to community work.
Passions That Keep Him Grounded
Tarah enjoys working with computers and remains deeply connected to soccer, whether playing or watching the game. These interests continue to keep him curious, active, and motivated.
Why His Story Matters
Mr Tarah Shiwayu’s journey is a reminder that success does not follow a single path. With the right support, determination, and willingness to serve, challenges can become stepping stones. His story speaks directly to young people who may feel discouraged, showing that growth often begins when you choose not to give up.
As we celebrate him this January, we honor a Namibian hero whose life reflects resilience, leadership, and the power of community.
