At Naayela’s Dream Publications, we believe heroism is not only found in big titles or public recognition, but in everyday commitment, humility, and staying true to one’s values. For August, we honor Simon Benjamen, a man whose life reflects dignity, cultural pride, and quiet service.

Roots in Ondonga

Mr. Simon Benjamen was born in Onankali, Ondonga, in the Oshikoto Region. His upbringing in this community laid a strong foundation of respect, discipline, and cultural values that continue to guide his life today.

A Childhood Dream of Teaching

Growing up, Simon dreamed of becoming a teacher. While life took him on a different path, that desire to teach never truly left him. Instead, it found expression in how he shares knowledge, values, and traditions with the younger generation.

Inspired by a National Icon

His personal hero is Sam Nujoma, the Founding President of the Republic of Namibia. This admiration reflects Simon’s respect for leadership, sacrifice, and the struggle that shaped Namibia’s independence and identity.

Serving with Pride and Humility

Simon works as a cleaner at the SWAPO Party National Headquarters in Windhoek. He carries out his duties with pride and dedication, showing that every role matters and that honest work deserves respect.

Keeping Culture Alive at Home

One of the most beautiful parts of Simon’s story is how he gathers around the fire with his children, passing on the culture and traditions taught to him by his parents. In these moments, history is shared, identity is strengthened, and values are preserved.

A Message for the Next Generation

Simon encourages everyone to respect, practice, and protect their traditions, and to actively teach young people about their cultures. He believes cultural knowledge is a gift that must be passed on, not forgotten.

Why His Story Matters

Mr. Simon Benjamen reminds us that heroes live among us. They show up every day, work with integrity, honor their roots, and invest in the future through simple but powerful actions. His story teaches us that preserving culture and serving with humility are acts of leadership in their own right.

As we celebrate him this August, we honor a Namibian hero whose life reflects respect, tradition, and the quiet strength that holds communities together.
